About ANGELA
I grew up with a single dad, watching him work multiple jobs to make ends meet. Dad not only taught me work ethic, but the importance of making good financial decisions. That is the reason I am so inspired by the importance of the work my financial professionals and I do every day. Together, we are helping their clients, who are entrusting them with their money – sometimes their entire life savings and the sum of their years of working and planning and saving – all so they can have a joyful retirement doing the things they love with the people they love. I love being a helper of helpers in an area that is really important and can affect families for generations.
A philosophy that I live by is to always leave a place better. We can do this in a lot of ways – picking up a piece of litter, returning the shopping cart to the store, giving an encouraging word, developing a great case strategy for a client, etc. I love that I don’t succeed unless my financial professionals and ultimately their clients, the consumers, succeed. It’s not about sales numbers – yours or mine, which is not to say those are not ultimately important for your business and your livelihood. It’s about helping you help your clients reach their financial goals and enjoy retirement. It’s about always leaving a place or situation better than we found it, knowing that if that’s our priority, we can trust that the numbers will follow. And when they do, I’ll be right there on the sidelines cheering louder than anyone else.
My husband, Thomas, and I have two children, Lydia and Locke, and we all manage our small domestic zoo that includes our dog, an umbrella cockatoo, two rats, and six hens. We live in Lawrence, Kansas, home of my alma mater, the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!). I’m very involved in my church, and I love to travel, read, and knit.
